banner-blog

Dear Parents,
As we approach the Christmas season of sharing and giving, let’s not forget about those who are less unfortunate than us. LEAP Education Group will be working with SAABSHARES in Indonesia to raise books and stationery for the children living in the “Rumah Belajar” or Learning House for the children living in the slump areas.

How You Can Help

The children in the Learning Houses (4 – 12 years old) require stationery and books for the new school year and therefore we are appealing to parents to donate these items to the children in Indonesia. About Saabshares & Rumah Beljar

SAABSHARES was first started in 2014 by two sisters, Sabrina and Elena Bensawan who helped the people living in the slums of Indonesia by providing donations. Gradually, they moved on to set up “Rumah Singgah” or Temporary Houses and “Rumah Belajar” or Learning Houses for the people in need of medical care and education.

Saabshares

  • They started by approaching the orphanages, old folks home as well as slumps area under the bridges in Jakarta that need help from health to education by giving donations to meet their need.
  • At first the donation was made out of her own pocket that she earns from her online business that she has started since her Secondary School time as well as her paintings auctions.

Rumah Belijar

  • They then, set up “Rumah Belajar” (Learning House) for the children that live in the slumps area around their area. The main purposes from “Rumah Belajar” in to give them education, art, general knowledge as well as character development and basic manner.
  • Currently there are 57 students ranging from the age og 4 to 12 year old.
  • “Rumah Belajar” also provides counseling and health check ups for these children. The children are also given milk, vitamins and healthy food during their school day.
